1 Title: The Snow Covered Forest
Date Taken: February 14, 2008
Why I Like This Shot: I have photographed this pathway numerous times during the spring and summer when the grass is luscious green. So it is amazing to see the transformation after a few inches of snow
Location: Forest in Winston Salem, North Carolina.

Image Code:  TP2008-001

2 Title: The Barn During Winter

Location: Tanglewood Park in Winston Salem, North Carolina

Image Code:  TP2008-003

4 Title: A Duck Among Geese
Date Taken: February 18, 2008

Image Code:  TP2008-004

5 Title: Sunlight rays on the ocean.

Why I Like This Shot: This was the first picture I snapped when I first got to the beach, and no editing was required.
Location: Emerald Isle Beach in Emerald Isle, North Carolina

Image Code:  TP2008-005

6 Title: Breakfast by the sea
Date Taken: February 24, 2008
Why I Like This Shot: I like how all the birds were in synch as they waited for the waves to recede. The black and white coloring gives more power to the shot too.
Location: Emerald Isle Beach in Emerald Isle, North Carolina

Image Code:  TP2008-006

7 Title: An engagement photo
Date Taken: March 2, 2008
Why I Like This Shot: I have little experience with romantic photography, so I was proud how I could show the emotions of the couple in this picture.

Image Code:  TP2008-007

8 Title: Sunrise over the ocean
Date Taken: March 15, 2008
Why I Like This Shot: This shot required getting up at 6:15 on a Saturday morning. The orange hues of the sunrise and the blues of the ocean make this picture powerful.
Location: Emerald Isle Beach in Emerald Isle, North Carolina

Image Code:  TP2008-008

  9 Title: Runaway Groom
Date Taken:
April 12, 2008
Why I Like This Shot: The groom is running (or pretending to) away from the wedding. I like this shot because the groom is in focus and you can see all the groomsmen behind him out of focus.

Image Code:  TP2008-009

  10 Title: Leaving The Wedding
Date Taken: April 12, 2008

Location: Calvary Baptist Church in Winston Salem, North Carolina

Image Code:  TP2008-010

11 Title: Cottage in the spring
Date Taken: April 13, 2008
Why I Like This Shot: The brilliant colors of the yellows and reds during spring make this cottage scene look like a classic painting.
Location: UNC Botanical Gardens in Chapel Hill, North Carolina

12 Title: Cows on the Farm
Date Taken: April 21, 2008
Why I Like This Shot: The strong colors of the blue sky and white clouds, green grass, and black and white cows all work together well. The silo is a bonus.
Location: Ferrington Village in Pittsboro, North Carolina

Image Code:  TP2008-012

13 Title: Small Creek in the Forest
Date Taken: May 5th, 2008
Why I Like This Shot: The leaves on the trees were thick enough to hide the sun's rays, and therefore I could take a 1/2" image of the small waterfall for the special effect.
Location: Hall River State Park in Pittsboro, North Carolina.

Image Code:  TP2008-013

14 Title: Morning sunlight along the path
Date Taken: May 5th, 2008
Why I Like This Shot: I like the effect of the sunlight rays in the morning shining down on the pathway in the forest. This curve in the path was well-lit.
Location: Hall River State Park in Pittsboro, North Carolina.

Image Code:  TP2008-014

15 Title: Sunset hues over the lake.
Date Edited: June 9th, 2008
Why I Like This Shot: This is an edited shot using special software, but I am still proud of the way the colors from the original picture were able to be enhanced and create a serene picture of a sunset over a pond.
Location: N/A (computer edited)

Image Code:  TP2008-015

16 Title: Bird's Eye View of the Mountains.
Date Taken: June 14th, 2008
Why I Like This Shot: I took this shot after a strenous hike to the top of Grandfather Mountain and I was greatly rewarded with this view, the Appalachian mountains stretching for miles and miles, with a nice small lake in the valley.

Image Code:  TP2008-016

  17 Title: Barbed Wire Fence
